High Pressure Water Jetting - Safety Awareness & Surface Preparation (SA + SP)

Course Description

This 2-day Water Jetting Association (WJA) City & Guilds accredited course covers the mandatory Safety Awareness course combined with the Surface Preparation (SP) module. The Safety Awareness covers all main areas of water jetting operations and safety, while the SP module covers theory, practical application, and the safe use of jetting units, jetting lances, and jetting equipment associated with carrying out surface preparation applications.

It is a practical and theory-based training course containing hands-on training and direct observations to safely operate water jetting equipment together with classroom training and assessment. The course is designed to provide candidates with knowledge, and hands-on experience on the correct use of water jetting equipment together with safety checks on hoses, nozzles, jetting lances, water filters, safety pressure relief systems, and other associated equipment.

Who Should Attend?

FAQs

How is the course delivered?

This course is split up into 3 parts. Theory, practical, and assessment. This is an in-person, classroom-based course.

Our WJA-qualified trainer/coach delivers the theory elements of the course on a modular basis for Safety Awareness (Day 1) and Surface Preparation (Day 2), where candidates are assessed throughout the day using the Clickapad system. Candidates are required to obtain a 75% pass mark and above in relation to the assessments for safety awareness and surface preparation.

On completion of the theory on Day 2, our trainer/coach carries out a practical demonstration on the safe use and operation of water jetting units and associated equipment. This is followed by each candidate being observed by our trainer/coach carrying out water jetting operations, inclusive of the use of a jetting lance for surface preparation.

Candidates will complete the practical elements in our purpose-built high pressure water jetting external skills academy, or at an appropriate area at an external employer's site.

Upon successful completion of the course, candidates will be registered with the Water Jetting Association, where registrations are valid for 3 years. Candidates will be issued with a Virtual WJA card and certificate. Physical cards can be provided upon request.

Refresher training will then be required at 3-year intervals. Please ensure that refresher training is complete before the expiry of your WJA registration card.
