Course Description

This Water Jetting Association (WJA) City & Guilds accredited Tube and Pipe Bundle Cleaning (TP) module is designed for candidates who carry out or will be carrying out tube and pipe bundle cleaning using high-pressure (HP) and ultra-high pressure (UHP) water jetting units.

Course Aims

It is a practical and theory-based training course containing hands-on training and direct observation to safely operate water jetting equipment associated with Tube and Pipe Bundle cleaning operations together with classroom training and assessment. The course is designed to provide candidates with knowledge and hands-on experience on the correct use of water jetting equipment together with safety checks on hoses, nozzles, jetting lances, water filters, safety pressure relief systems, and other associated equipment.

Who Should Attend?

Candidates who are both experienced and new to the industry who will be carrying out Tube and Pipe Bundle operations using HP and UHP water jetting units.

How is the course delivered?

This course is split up into 3 parts. Theory, practical, and assessment. This is an in-person, classroom-based course.

Our WJA-qualified trainer/coach delivers the theory elements of the course on a modular basis, covering Tube and Pipe Bundle Cleaning operations with the use of guns and lances, where candidates are assessed throughout the day using the Clickapad system.

Candidates are required to obtain a 75% pass mark and above in relation to the assessment.

On completion of the theory, our trainer/coach carries out a practical demonstration on the safe use and operation of water jetting units and associated equipment. This is followed by each candidate being observed by our trainer/coach carrying out water jetting operations inclusive of the use of a jetting lance.

Candidates will complete the practical elements in our purpose-built high pressure water jetting external skills academy, or at an appropriate area at an external employer's site.

Upon successful completion of the course, candidates will be registered with the Water Jetting Association, where registrations are valid for 3 years. Candidates will be issued with a Virtual WJA card and certificate. Physical cards can be provided upon request.

Refresher training will then be required at 3-year intervals. Please ensure that refresher training is completed before the expiry of your WJA registration card.

How long will the course last?

This is a 1-day course. Our courses run from 8:30 - 16:30.

What is the course eligibility?

Candidates should have a proficient level of English to participate in this course.

What are the course pre-requisites?

Candidates should hold a valid Safety Awareness certificate, or complete the Safety Awareness course alongside this module.

What PPE is required?

Candidates should bring appropriate PPE as follows:

  • Gloves
  • Hearing Protection
  • Hard Hat
  • Waterproofs
  • Full Face Visor
What certificates will be achieved?
