Course Description

City & Guilds low risk confined space course (6160-01) operates against the national occupational standards for a low risk related confined space environments.

The candidate will learn how to prepare to work safely in low risk confined spaces, enter and exit low risk confined spaces safely, use equipment and tools safely, follow working procedures and work safely, know how to deal with emergencies, understand the principles of working in a low risk confined space.

Course Aims

This course aims to prepare candidates to work safely, inclusive of entering and exiting low risk confined spaces, using associated equipment and tools, following industry recognised safety procedures, and setting out how to deal with emergencies.

How is the course delivered?

This course is split up into three parts. Theory, practical, and assessment.

Our City & Guilds confined space training programme covers both classroom-based and practical activities. Our purpose built City & Guilds accredited Confined Space Unit provides an excellent environment for candidates to experience the practical elements of confined space working, whilst ensuring safety is paramount.

A final assessment consists of a closed book exam, requiring a 65% pass mark.

How long will the course last?

This is a 1-day course. Our courses run from 8:30 - 16:30.

What is the course eligibility?

Our City & Guilds accredited course is open to everyone, subject to our terms and conditions.

What are the course pre-requisites?

Our confined space courses can be physically demanding and are required to meet the specifications as set out by City & Guilds.

Candidates should have a proficient level of English to participate in this course.

What PPE is required?

Candidates should bring appropriate PPE as follows:

What certificates will be achieved?

After successful completion of the course, candidates will receive a City & Guilds certificate. This qualification is valid for 3 years.
