Course Description

City & Guilds high risk confined space course (6160-03) operates against the national occupational standards for high risk related confined space environments.

The candidate will learn how to implement procedures for teams working in high risk confined spaces, control safe entry and exit to/from the high risk confined space, monitor the work team to ensure procedures are followed, control emergency situations.

Understand health and safety environmental legislation, protocols for working in high risk confined spaces, the entry controller duties and responsibilities, and equipment checks and testing requirements.

Use of working set breathing apparatus is mandatory on the high risk City & Guilds course and requires candidates to be clean-shaven.

Course Aims

This course aims to prepare those to work safely, entering and exiting high risk confined spaces, using appropriate tools and associated equipment, following safety protocols and procedures, along with understanding the requirements to effectively deal with emergencies.

How is the course delivered?

This course is split up into three parts. Theory, practical, and assessment.

Our City & Guilds confined space training programme covers both classroom-based and practical activities. Our purpose built City & Guilds accredited Confined Space Unit provides an excellent environment for candidates to experience the practical elements of high risk confined space working, whilst ensuring safety is paramount.

A final assessment consists of a closed book exam, requiring a 65% pass mark.

How long will the course last?

This is a 3-day course. Our courses run from 8:30 - 16:30.

What is the course eligibility?

Our City & Guilds accredited course is open to everyone, subject to our terms and conditions.

What are the course pre-requisites?

Our confined space courses can be physically demanding and are required to meet the specifications as set out by City & Guilds.

Candidates should have a proficient level of English to participate in this course.

What certificates will be achieved?
