In the modern working environment, there is a greater emphasis on flexibility and making work more accommodating for different staff needs. In the utility industry, this focus on being flexible is particularly relevant where finding time for mandatory training can be a challenge and every minute counts.
This is something we are well aware of at McCrae Training. We are always striving for ways to make training more accessible. This is why we are proud to be offering Remote Live Delivery of the popular National Water Hygiene course. But what exactly does Remote Live learning mean?
What is the National Water Hygiene Scheme?
Before we start looking at Remote Live and what it offers, it will be good to provide a brief overview of what exactly National Water Hygiene is and why it is so important.
The National Water Hygiene training scheme is a nationally recognised programme designed to meet the safety requirements of water supply companies and regulators across England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland. Commonly referred to as the “Blue Card”, the scheme ensures that anyone working on or adjacent to water supply infrastructure – known as Restricted Operations – understands how to prevent contamination and protect public health.
Utility Training Delivered to You
Your location or current circumstance should not rule you out from receiving training to gain mandatory qualifications. Whether you are working in a rural location far out from a training centre or managing teams spread over different locations, remote live learning can help ease the work in organising training. But what exactly is Remote Live?
On a Remote Live training course, candidates will find a great middle ground between computer-based learning and an in-person class. There is the flexibility that comes from being able to tune into the class from wherever you are based. But on top of this, the course is delivered by a EUSR-accredited trainer.
So candidates will get to experience the live tuition as they would in a classroom setting and be able to lean on the experience of our trainers as they progress through their course.
What Will You Get with Remote Live Training?
- Flexibility: As long as you have a compatible device (e.g. laptop) and a connection, you will be able to check in for your learning wherever you are.
- Accredited Trainers: You will receive your remote live training from one of our EUSR-accredited trainers.
- Convenience: Our Remote Live National Water Hygiene course only takes half a day for candidates to complete.
Combine with Scottish Water DOMS?
Working in Scotland? You can combine your National Water Hygiene training with Scottish Water DOMS (Modules 1–12) on the same day.
This is a popular option for operatives who need both certifications to work safely and compliantly across Scottish water networks – and it’s a great way to maximise your time and training investment.
If looking to complete a combined National Water Hygiene and DOMS course, this needs to be done in person, and you will need to attend one of our training centres for this to be completed.
